After walking along Arditurri Greenway, endless activities are available in Oiartzun!
After walking along the Greenway, delving into the depths of the Arditurri mines, learning all about the surrounding landscape in Luberri or dancing in Soinuenea to the sound of more than 400 musical instruments from around the world, Oiartzun still offers unique options to get the most out of your stay there.
THROUGH THE HISTORIC QUARTER...
The historic quarter of Oiartzun is ancient and features many elements of great value. As you walk through its streets, you will come across several historic buildings of great importance.
The tour can begin at the 16th-century chapel of San Juan Bautista and Pilgrims' Hospital. Thanks to the guided tours, you can also visit the church of Doneztebe de Lartaun right next door.
The town hall is located in the town square. It was built in 1678, and, compared to the other town halls in Gipuzkoa, this building is an exception, as it does not follow the Plateresque style. Among other events, pelota matches are played in its arcades, a local produce fair is held, and concerts are organised.
Around the Town Hall are beautiful ancestral homes, and down Aialde Street is the Arizmendi Enea house-museum, an 18th-century building. This house can be visited from the inside, and you can discover an example of the holiday homes of the basque bourgeoisie at the beginning of the 20th century.
