Stopover at the Arditurri Greenway: medieval Errenteria

As a starting point to begin the Arditurri Greenway or to make a stop along the way, Errenteria is an exceptional place, as the Greenway goes right through the town following the Oiartzun River.

Formerly known as "little Manchester", today there is a wide range of cultural, natural, gastronomic and leisure activities in Errenteria.

As we enter the medieval quarter, we encounter several interesting buildings, such as the medieval tower houses of Torrekua and Morrontxo and the church of Nuestra Señora de la Asunción. This is also the home of the Jantziaren zentroa, the costume centre, an exhibition that traces the evolution of our clothing throughout history.

As we continue to Oiartzun, we will make a last stop to see the Fanderia mill before leaving the town. This 15th-century foundry is also the interpretation centre for the Oiartzun river.

Enjoy the gastronomy in Errenteria: there are plenty of options, whether you are looking for pintxos, set menus or à la carte.

Fort of San Marcos

While visiting Errenteria, take advantage of the opportunity to explore this 19th-century building, the best viewpoint on the coast of Gipuzkoa.
