In 2022, the Provincial Council of Gipuzkoa, through its Department of Green Territorial Balance, opened the Basabizi Centre in Urnieta, taking over the role previously carried out by Arrano Etxea.

SEE POSTER

Basabizi’s mission is to recover Gipuzkoa’s wild fauna by rehabilitating and treating injured animals so they can return to their natural habitat.

On Sunday, 4 October, several birds rehabilitated at Basabizi will be released in Arditurri, within the Aiako Harria Natural Park.

During the activity, technicians from the Provincial Council’s Wildlife Service (forest rangers) will explain the characteristics of the birds being released, the work carried out at the Basabizi Centre, and what to do when an injured wild animal is found.

The event will begin at 11:00 a.m. Prior registration is required. The session will be held in Basque and Spanish.
