In the Eguzki Borda family's cheese factory they make Idiazabal denomination of origin cheese from Latxa sheep's milk. It is located in the Zamalbide neighbourhood of Errenteria, in the vicinity of the fort of San Marcos, in the park of Lau Haizeta. The sheep stay in the stable from October to June. From June to October they graze in the Aralar mountain range.

The lambs are born in November-December. The cheese is made between January and June. So this is a great time to see the sheep and lambs in the stable and learn about the cheese-making process.

The visit we have organised will be guided by Josu Oiartzabal (head of the cheese factory). Visitors will learn about the feeding and care of the sheep; they will see the lambs up close and will graze the sheep. The entire cheese-making process is then explained to them. Finally, Idiazabal cheese made in Eguzki-borda will be tasted.

The visit will take place on Sunday 2nd February, organised by the Gipuzkoa Parketxes Network. It will start at 11:00 in the morning, will last approximately an hour and a half and you must register in advance by contacting the Parketxe Arditurri. The price is 12 € for adults and 6 € for children (3-12 years old). The explanations will be given in Basque.
